Shipbuilding

Hepworth Shipyard undertakes bespoke steel vessel construction to any stage from bare hulls to complete, fully fitted ships. Shipbuilding is carried out either to clients’ exact specifications, or to designs created by Hepworth-employed marine architects.

Enjoying diverse capability in a number of sectors, projects completed have included tugs and other workboats, small ferries and tanker barges. In recent years, fishing vessels have also featured heavily in the Hepworth design and build portfolio.

 

Conversions

Hepworth Shipyard also specialises in conversion work including hull extensions and change of use projects.

 

Repairs

Hepworth Shipyard repair facilities include a 42m x 8.5m dry dock and a slipway for vessels up to approximately 60m in length.

All major vessel fabrication and outfitting is carried out by fully-trained Hepworth Shipyard professional shipbuilders. Electrical installation, accommodation fit-out and precision machinery manufacture is provided by specialist subcontractors under close Hepworth supervision.
